The Deal Wıth the devıl, screen prınt, 2021
Inspired by “Faust” by Goethe and the famous trope of “making a deal with the devil”, this three-part print series depicts three scenes from the play. It was a response to a brief that was given in BA Illustration and Visual Media Year 3 @ the London College of Communication.

development
The development for this particular brief consisted of short research on religious and mythological imagery and art throughout different cultures. Biblical art and symbolism in art were the most prominent points that guided me throughout my process. I made notes of different gestures, symbols, body language and expressions to impose a type of visual communication.
Further sketchbook pages are filled with first-ever interpretations of the character Mephistopheles in his demon form, hellish form and earthly form. To explore his character, details like his lighter, his food of choice, and the quill he lends Faust to get his deal signed were a few of the things I sketched.
There are also redesigns of biblically accurate archangels and angels, and the very first sketch of the second screenprint at the later pages.
Scenes from the mid-year exhibition.
