Screen print outcomes from the printing workshop organized by year 3 (BA) Illustration and Visual Media students and heads of the intaglio, screen printing, bookbinding and typography workshops of the London College of Communication / University of the Arts London as a part of the graduate showcase.

The background was the common ground for each person to use on their printing medium. I decided to sketch this simplistic linework of a Borzoi with wiggly knives to fill up the remaining space while also trying to stay conscious about and integrate the shapes in the background when thinking about the pose of the dog and the knives.

I mixed three colour choices for the linework, black, cool purple and blood red. I ended up slightly misaligning the purple and the red to achieve a classic 3D effect, while in the second one, I tried to align them as perfectly as possible, giving off this burgundy colour. The last one has black only as the linework for simplicity.

In the end, the workshop was all about demonstrating different types of analogue printing mediums and experimenting with those mediums.

The background image was made and printed with riso by a fellow year 3 student for workshop purposes only, which allowed me and the other students who volunteered for this workshop to have a starting point for our printing designs.
